Exterior is clean blue mixed with gray, no pitting and a good front sight , barrel threads, and ejector rod stud. Bore measures .409" or .38-40 caliber. Top of barrel is clear Colt Address in one line and the length is 5 1/8", which means that this was transformed into a gun fighter length. The bore has visible rifling and some mild corrosion from black powder cartridges. Early barrels before 1890 didn't have the caliber marked in the left side.Useful if you need this barrel.
